Monroe, LA (August 13, 2023) – The Louisiana State Police responded to the scene of an auto accident that took place in the Monroe area on Friday afternoon, August 11.
At around 12:30 p.m., emergency crews were notified that their assistance was needed on-site at a motor vehicle accident on Interstate 20.
Police reports show that a crash blocked the westbound side of the roadway, causing delays in traffic near mile marker 57. The disruptions extended approximately six miles from the scene, prompting officials to redirect traffic off Exit 61.
Medics responded to care for the victims who were harmed while at the scene. Those who required more medical care were taken to nearby hospitals.
At this time, the incident is being investigated.
