Monroe, LA (January 30, 2023) – A traffic accident with injuries took place in the Monroe area on Sunday evening, according to the Louisiana State Police. At around 6:05 p.m. on January 29, emergency officials were called to the scene of a traffic crash on Interstate 20.
Official reports indicate that a vehicle collision blocked the right lane of travel on the eastbound side of Interstate 20. The incident caused severe disruptions in traffic near the area of US Highway 165.
The Louisiana State Police and firefighters out of Monroe responded to the scene to provide assistance. Emergency officials blocked off several lanes of the roadway as they worked to remove the damaged vehicles.
At least one person suffered injuries and was transported to a local hospital.
The circumstances of the car crash are currently being investigated.
