Monroe, LA (September 5, 2023) – An automobile accident occurred in the Monroe area early Saturday morning that claimed one woman’s life.
The crash occurred at around 1:00 a.m. on September 2.
Reports provided by the Monroe Police Department show that an 18-wheeler and a Kia sedan collided on Interstate 20. The impact of the crash caused the semi-truck to burst into flames, blocking multiple eastbound lanes near Jackson Street.
The Kia driver, identified as 29-year-old Latoya Williams of Monroe, Louisiana, incurred fatal injuries due to the crash. She was pronounced deceased at the scene.
No other injuries were reported due to this crash.
The Monroe Police Department is currently investigating the incident.
