Monroe, LA (April 17, 2024) – A pedestrian accident reported in the Monroe area claimed one person’s life. The accident was reported to officials at around 1:30 p.m. on April 12.
According to official reports, a male pedestrian was walking on Thomas Road during the afternoon hours. As he proceeded through the area near the Kansas City Southern railway crossing, he was struck by a train. The pedestrian, who was later identified by the Ouachita Parish Sheriff’s Office as 50-year-old Rodney Griffin, was pronounced deceased at the scene as a result of his injuries. At this time, the crash is being investigated.
