Monroe, LA (August 8, 2024) – On August 6, emergency crews in Monroe were called to the scene of a motor vehicle accident that sent an unknown number of people to local hospitals with injuries. The collision occurred at around 11:45 a.m.
Police reports show that vehicles collided on Interstate 20 East. The Louisiana State Police and firefighters arrived at the scene and immediately closed down the roadway near Louisiana Highway 617, Thomas Road. Traffic was diverted onto Louisiana Highway 617 as emergency crews worked to remove the involved vehicles. Emergency medical services responded to the crash to care for victims and transport them to area hospitals. The incident is currently being investigated.
