Pedestrian Accidents in Louisiana
Louisiana has seen an increase in pedestrian-related accidents in recent years. Pedestrian fatalities account for a significant portion of traffic-related deaths across the state.
Four common causes of pedestrian accidents include:
- Failure to Yield – Drivers failing to give pedestrians the right of way can lead to fatal accidents.
- Distracted Driving – Drivers who are distracted by phones or other activities are a significant risk.
- Low Visibility – Poor lighting at night contributes to accidents, especially on less-illuminated roads.
- Speeding – Higher speeds reduce reaction time and increase injury severity.
