Monroe, LA (February 7, 2024) – Emergency crews out of Monroe were requested at the scene of a motor vehicle accident that occurred at around 4:15 p.m. on February 6. The accident took place on Interstate 20, blocking the eastbound side of the road.
According to official reports divided by the Louisiana State Police, vehicles collided on the roadway, prompting a closure of multiple lanes just past US Highway 165. Congestion was reported in the area, which approached South 5th Street at Exit 117A. The police and firefighters remained at the scene, extensively clearing the road. Medical personnel responded to care for those harmed before transporting injured victims to area hospitals. At this time, the incident is being investigated.
