Monroe, LA (January 7, 2024) – A motor vehicle accident reported in the Monroe area ended in injuries, according to area news sources. The crash was reported to the Louisiana State Police at around 3:10 p.m. on January 4.
According to official reports, an automobile accident blocked the right lane of travel on Interstate 20 East. The crash prompted LSP troopers and area firefighters to close off a portion of the roadway near Stella Street as they worked to clear the scene. Congestion extended approximately two miles from the crash site as emergency crews worked to clear the road. Medical personnel responded to treat the injured victims before transporting them to area hospitals. At this time, the circumstances surrounding the crash are being investigated.
