Monroe, LA (September 3, 2024) – A fatal accident reported in Monroe on Saturday evening claimed one person’s life, leading to the arrest of Billterrious Lewis. The accident took place at around 9:00 p.m. on August 31.
According to official reports, Lewis was driving in the 700 block of Sterlington Road in Monroe during the evening hours. For unknown reasons, he struck a pedestrian who was crossing the roadway. The pedestrian was fatally injured as a result of the accident. He was pronounced deceased at the scene. Lewis fled the scene of the crash without stopping. He was later apprehended by authorities and taken into police custody, where he faces multiple charges for hit-and-run driving resulting in death and vehicular homicide. At this time, the incident is under investigation by local law enforcement officials.
